License Status
All information provided by the Department of Public Safety on this webpage and its other web pages and internet sites, is made available to provide immediate access for the convenience of interested persons.
While the Department believes the information to be reliable, human or mechanical error remains a possibility, as does delay in posting or updating of information. Therefore, the Department makes no guarantee as to the accuracy, completeness, timelines or correct sequencing of the information. Neither the Department, nor any of the sources of information, shall be responsible for any errors or omissions, or for the use or results obtained from the user of this information.
Explanations of the statuses: (Only licenses with the below statuses will be shown)
- Issued: Application process completed. The License/registration is valid and in good standing.
- Pending: Received application and paperwork, fingerprints have been submitted
- Expired: License/Registration expired, not allowed to work on expired status. If the agency license is expired, all private investigators and security guards working for that agency are likewise expired from working for that agency until the agency is back in issued status.
- Incomplete: Application received, some item(s) missing, before application process proceeds that item must be submitted to the Licensing Unit.
*PLEASE NOTE EXPIRATION DATE WHEN CHECKING LICENSE STATUS. STATUS COULD INDICATE ISSUED WHEN LICENSE IS EXPIRED.
IF A LICENSE IS EXPIRED, THE INDIVIDUAL OR AGENCY IS NO LONGER LEGAL TO WORK OR OPERATE.
